Clean Bill of Health
As of May 17, 2019, I was given a clean bill of health from MD Anderson and am planning to re-enter the classroom at Iroquois High School for the next school year 2019/2020.

Flashback from 2015
My update from 2019: A lot has happened since my “clean bill of health”. Get caught up here.

Alive
HOPE is the most important thing to hold on to when faced with disaster of any sort. HOPE brings us through to the sunshine once again.

New Beginnings
This morning I am drinking coffee and eating breakfast -- planning my day and realizing that I feel completely and utterly like myself!

Home
This trip is different from all the rest. I kissed Dan and waltzed out the door saying I'll see you on Thursday!

Homeward Bound
Today is such a busy day for me at the hospital so this is going to be short and sweet. I am coming home tomorrow!

My Wordless Prayer
My dear friend Sandra sent this link to me today. Take the time to listen to it on your headphones. I pray that it is as healing to you as it is to me.

Still on track to come home on or near my 100th day:)
I wanted to post just a short message to you today to let you know that I am out of the hospital😊

A Brief Reprieve; Back in The Hospital
TL;DR back in the hospital, kidneys are cranky but not damaged, we have lots of questions without answers yet, but they're doing lots of tests.

Much Harder Than Anticipated
Current status: She's still in a lot of pain, but now has a diagnosis and a strategy. There's a procedure planned for this afternoon which should help.

Unexpected Hospital Stay
Hey guys, I was holding off on writing this until I had more information for you, but details aren't coming as fast as we'd like, and Linda would like your prayers in the meantime.

On Healing
Head’s up y’all, this one is pretty light on the actual medical info. Tl;dr it’s not easy but she’s doing wonderfully.
I’ve been thinking a lot about healing.

Day 25 post transplant (75 to go!)
25 days post-transplant and only 75 to go. Here’s how I’m holding up.

Home Sweet Ho-uston
Give me a challenge and I’ll accept: I earned 21 bandannas for walking over 61 miles over 3 weeks.

Princess Buzz Kill
Hi everyone! We're calling today the first day of the upswing. Mama had a very rough week, but mostly with expected symptoms. She had a couple of complications which are within the bounds of what they're used to dealing with on the transplant floor, and which have mostly been resolved.

Happy Birthday To Me: Transplant Day
Hey everybody! Just want to let you know the transplant is at 11:30 Central time today. The doctor (Dr. Andersson) will be here to oversee the process and we are excited!

Transplant Time
Hey everybody! I'm in the hospital with Mom -who's doing wonderfully - and Marcy, who is alternating between being helpful and kind and loving, and winding Linda up like only the oldest friends can. They seriously are about 13 years old in here, there's been a lot of giggling and name-calling.

Gratitude and Contrast
When I was home for the last two weeks-- I had so much to deal with mentally. It took me a while to get my head around it but I feel that between the many conversations that Dan, Bekah, Colt and Zack, Mom and Dad, Amy, Barry, friends, Dr. Khouri... I am able to approach this time with gratitude.

My Garden- To Be or Not to Be
As you all know I love to be in my garden. But this year…

The Moment We've Been Waiting For
Thanks for all the support and prayers -- things are really moving fast!
Our plane touched down in Erie 5/25 and within minutes I got a call from MD ANDERSON transplant research nurse wondering if I was still in Houston – HA!
