My Life With a Healing Coach and Chemo Round 2
Hello Friends and Family,
Sorry that it has taken me so long to update this...argh If i say that I have been a little busy...I'm sure you'll understand:)
First of all I want to thank you for all your cards and phone calls and visits and food. And thanks to Monica Weed my niece who has put together the website for you all called "Take them a meal" that has worked very well to help us all stay on the same page. We have barely had to buy groceries for the last 2 weeks (or do laundry)-- getting so spoiled. Even my special dietary needs don't seem to be a problem for anyone- we have had nothing but organic, grass-fed, free-range, wild-caught, gluten free, caffeine free, no gmo food. :)
2 weeks ago Mom and Dad took me to the Cleveland Clinic for a pet scan and to admit me to the hospital for my first 3 day stay for chemo. Dan and I then spent the night at Marcy and Dennis's on Friday and back to the hospital on Saturday AM to get a Nuplasta shot. That is meant to help get the white blood cell production moving which helps to fight disease and illness.
The chemo this time is a lot more intense than last summer. I wasn't completely prepared for that. I was unable to interact with people for about 3 days following but since then have been on the mend and as of now feeling weak but much better.
Dan and I went to see my Oncologist on Tuesday. We feel that we should get a second opinion about my diagnosis. We love our doctor and the Cleveland Clinic...however feel that they have all been surprised by my situation right now... Dan has a friend that is on the board at Dana Farber Institute at Harvard. He will be traveling there next week for business and is going to take my information to them.
Sometimes people ask me how to pray-- I always let God lead the way in that personally but I would say that my needs right now have to do with my bone marrow recovering and my platelets recovering so that I can have Chemo again next week. Also could you pray that we are able to get the input that we are seeking from another specialist.
My parents went to South America and Antarctica over the holidays (!!) this year and while they were on the ship they had the good fortune of meeting and dining with a woman named Catherine Carrigan who is a healing coach (and #1 best selling author on Amazon!) They contacted her when they got home and found me in the hospital. She has agreed to work with me. I have met with her a few times now and am on a new path to healing. It has already been transformational. I'm so thankful to my parents who not only connected me with this amazing woman but also for footing the bill!
Speaking of which...I have had to quit working for the rest of this school year in order to be able to make my way to full recovery. That breaks my heart in terms of the students and the love I have for my job. But I am so very thankful for the Iroquois School District that has supported and helped me through this whole entire process. Also I am relieved and happy to announce that my dear friend Sharon Sitter is coming to fill my position for the remainder of the school year! She is creative and enthusiastic and I know will be a good fit for my students. Thank you Sharon!!
Well, I am going to leave it right here for now and go jump for 5 more minutes on my rebounder, do some Qi Gong, and have my very healthy lunch (smoothie with mother's milk and lots of other things that I have never had in a smoothie before- obviously there's more to tell --but I'm tired right now so you'll have to wait til next time)
Blessings, Love and Thanks,
Lin
